The Full Story

Melodi’s Belles & Beaus began with a little creativity, a whole lot of heart, and one simple suggestion:
“Let’s open a children’s store.”

It started as a weekend project between me and a neighbor who became a dear friend. We loved sewing and creating sweet things for little ones, and what began as something fun quickly turned into something more.

When she said, “Let’s open a children’s store,” I was all in. After being a stay-at-home mom for 25 years, I was ready for something new, and Melodi’s became my way back into the world.

(Side note… my name isn’t Melodi, it’s Melanie. My business partner was Jodi, so we became Mel + odi.)

Not long after we opened in 2007, she stepped away to focus on her family, and I continued on. Over the years, this little shop has grown with the support of an incredible community, and so many customers have become friends.

One of the sweetest parts has been having my youngest daughter join me over the years. Even now, as a mom of three, she’s still part of Melodi’s behind the scenes. It’s always been a family story.

From the beginning, my goal has been simple… to create a space where you feel welcomed, taken care of, and maybe even find something that feels a little special.
